When both of them start working at the restaurant El Cion, The Dog rises to the Olympus of fine dining. Akiz tells the story of two underdogs without pause, in an overflowing, electric voice. DIE KÖNIGIN DER FRÖSCHE
The animal within the human and the human within the animal. The most beloved fairy tale retold – intoxicating and visually powerful.
Young duchess Ragna is to be married to the hunting lord of Waidhofenstein. But instead of submitting to him and the pretentious ways of court life, a kiss with a toad unleashes a transformation so fierce that the entire royal household struggles to contain it.
Akiz’s novel dives deep into the darkest corners of the German forests. Powerful, raw, and tender at once, it tells a story of the curse and blessing of being human – and of a love between two souls fiercely battling for their own freedom.
